This oak bench or large coffee table is, in my (very biased) opinion, stunning. My wife and I are very close to keeping this one!
I saw this piece of oak in a woodyard in Cambridgeshire and thought it had lots of potential, but it needed a lot of TLC!
Some beautiful waney edge lines.
The grain and medullary rays sing out from the wood, giving it some lovely character combined with a sprinkling of knots and cracks. I filled some of the bigger holes and cracks with blue semi-transparent resin, this bench has real stand out and would be a talking point in any home.
Finished with a clear, hard-wearing gloss to really show off all of the character and natural beauty of this piece of oak.
Wireframe steel hairpin legs give it a modern, contemporary look and the grey matches the light colour of the wood.
